Fraud warning
Scammers copy trusted names. If someone contacts you in the name of Forge Capmoor, read this page before you reply, click or pay.
Why we publish this notice
We take every report and suspicion of fraudulent activity seriously. From time to time we find companies using our name, or names very similar to it, without our permission. This can cause confusion and spread false information about us and our services. We publish this notice so that clients and the public know how to tell us apart from impostors and what to do if they meet one.
Cloned companies
If you suspect that you are dealing with a clone company that uses our brand, name or logo, do not give it any personal information, and let us know at once by email at [email protected]. Include the website address, telephone numbers, the name of the person who contacted you and screenshots where you can.
We continually work to identify clone companies, but we stress that some may remain unidentified for a period. Clients should always verify the legitimacy of any company they deal with online before sharing personal data or starting any business relationship.
Warning signs
- Someone who contacts you unprompted, on social media, messaging apps or by phone, offering trading "opportunities" in our name.
- Promises of guaranteed or fixed returns. We never guarantee profit, and nobody acting for us will either.
- Pressure to deposit quickly, or to move to another app or website to continue.
- Requests to pay by transfer to a personal account, to buy gift cards or to send cryptoassets to an address they give you.
- A website address or email that is not exactly forge-capmoor.co.uk or [email protected].
- Requests for your password, 2FA code or API secret. We never ask for these.
Recovery scams
People who have already lost money are often contacted again by someone offering to get it back for an upfront fee. These offers are nearly always a second scam. Do not pay anyone who says they can recover funds.
Our position
We are aware of cases where our name and personal data have been misused for fraud, which we cannot influence or control. While we deeply regret the financial losses of anyone who has suffered such a loss, Forge Capmoor is not responsible for fraudulent transactions carried out in our name by third parties.
What to do if you have been targeted
- Stop contact and do not send more money.
- Tell your bank or card provider immediately. They may be able to stop or reverse a payment.
- Report to Action Fraud, the UK's national fraud reporting centre, and to the FCA if the firm claims to be authorised.
- Change any passwords you shared and enable two-factor login.
- Email us so that we can investigate and, where possible, take the impersonating site down.
